Piano lessons with Anu Arsalo

Studio policy for Spring 2025

January 13-May 8

1. Semester

  • Lessons will run from January 13th through May 8th, 2025 including 17 weekly private lessons.
  • Group lessons are scheduled every second Saturday a month: February 8th March 8th, April 12th. Group lessons are subject to cancellation based on attendance.  If there’s only 1-2 students available for a group lesson, lesson will be cancelled. Student can be moved to another group if appropriate.
  • We will have a recital tentatively on April 26th  at 2-4 pm. (Tentative based on venue availability)
  • In addition, there can be optional performance opportunities for those who are interested and prepared through CAPMT(California Professional Music Teachers).
  • I will also offer to prepare students for Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) evaluations for those that are interested. These exams are offered remotely on going, and end of May in person.
  • If you prefer CAPMT evaluations, we can do those instead.

2. Missed Lesson

  • Financial responsibility will run through the entire term January 13th- May 8th, even in the event that student may not be able to complete the entire term. There will be no exceptions. Lesson missed by teacher will always be made up.
  • I will start a list of those interested in sharing their information, in order to exchange lessons times. When conflict arises, you can contact other students to exchange lessons as long as I know ahead of time of the exchange.
  • No refund will be issued for any missed lessons for any reason, except for those missed by the teacher.
  • Lesson will not be made up if notification is not received 24 hours ahead of time and no refund will be issued.
  • Make up credit will remain for the semester, but will not carry over to the following semester

3. A Tardy Student

  • A tardy student has only the time remaining in the lesson period.

4. Arriving Early

  • If your child comes to lesson early, they are welcome to observe the lesson of the previous student. Any play in the studio needs to be silent. I often invite students to arrive early or stay late and complete their theory home work. If I am teaching, this is always an option.

 5. Tuition and Commitment

$880 /  17 45 minute weekly lessons, or 4 monthly payments of $220(January 15, February 15, March 15, April 15)

$1055 / 17 60 minute lessons or 4 monthly payments of $263.75

In the addition we will have 2-3 Saturday morning group lessons and a recital in April. Let me know as soon as possible, which Saturday afternoons will not work for you in April.

I will not offer make up lessons for any reason other than if I must reschedule lessons. You are welcome to swap with other students, if a conflict arises. Or use an open slot, if there are any. There will be no additional payment, if I ask your student to come for an extra lesson either for a duet practice with an other student, or in preparation for an evaluation or recital.

  • In case you decide to stay, please leave the discipline of your student to me, unless I ask for your input.
  • If parent stays with an other child, please remain quiet.
